Agronomic Engineering

What is the Agronomic Engineering?


It is a career that uses the knowledge of the basic sciences such as mathematical, physics and chemical, the applied sciences such as vegetable physiology, handling of floors and cultivations protection, the updated technology like the computer science and the biotechnology, conjugating them with the practical knowledge generated by the productive processes, to form engineers able to optimize agricultural productive systems and to undertake with success business of the agriculture.

What you will learn in the career?

  • At basic level of the career the student establishes an early contact with the reality of the agricultural production; he receives theoretical-practice instruction in the basic sciences of the engineering and is qualified in laboratories endowed with high technology, in areas like biology, genetics and computer science.
  • At half level of the career he begins in the taking and execution of decisions related with real productive processes of commercial scale. He deepens in the technician-scientific aspects of the production in the local environment and establishes contact with the national reality through field exits to the main centers of production of the country.
  • In the final phase of the career he consolidates as professional of the agronomic engineering, specialist in the main items of the region, acquires capacity to intervene as agent of the development in the rural means and through the degree thesis he achieves experience in the realization of works of scientific research, making significant contributions for the solution of problems of the agriculture of the region.

In the career of Agronomic Engineering of the UNET the student's integral development is provided in an environment of fraternity, where prevail the group solidarity and a pleasant learning environment.

  • Engineer with technician-scientific, competitive high quality, able to solve problems from the agricultural production to national and local levels, community and farms, committed with the social transformation and prepared to triumph as country owner.
  • It deepens attitudes and such values as: authenticity, objectivity, solidarity, creativity, tolerance and respect for the nature, for the knowledge and for the human being, to the interior of a project of personal-social development.
  • With analysis and synthesis capacity to take decisions and technical - administrative capacity.

 

What Knowledge should have the applicant to study the career?

  • Basic knowledge of mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and language.
  • Vocation pro the nature and the disposition for the work outdoors.
  • Capacity to be expressed in oral, written and graph forms.
  • Research and creativity spirits.
  • Disposition to be interrelated in the rural and agro industrial means.
  • Disposition to assume commitments with their professional formation in the realization of theoretical and practical activities of the agriculture.

  • Agricultural production.
  • Services. Example: Design and handling of green areas.
  • Study about the environmental impact.
  • Distribution of agricultural inputs.
  • Technical consultant. Example: Development of projects in the agricultural production.
  • Designer and evaluator of agricultural systems.
  • System planning of agrarian development.
  • Rural infrastructure Planner. Example: watering systems and infrastructure.
  • Promoter of the technological knowledge that is generated through the investigation to the agrarian producer.
  • Civil works inspector.
