Mechanical Engineering

What is the Mechanical Engineering?

The Mechanical Engineering it is a branch of the engineering that pursues the transformation of the natural resources in useful products for the man. Therefore, it embraces those aspects that have to do with the project, operation, maintenance and manage of facilities where machineries are used to convert, to transport and to use energy as well as those dedicated to transform the raw material in manufactured products. It is a profession of multiple views, therefore it require the formation of an integral professional to work in several areas of the modern technology.

Entrance profile

  • Basic knowledge of mathematics, physics, chemistry and language.
  • Inclination toward the science and the technology.
  • Investigation spirit, creativity and responsible in their duties.
  • Behaviors chord with the ethics and moral norms.
  • Capacity to be expressed in oral, written and graph forms.
  • Capacity of logical reasoning (to analyze situations, phenomenons or objects).
  • Visual perception ability of objects in three-dimensional form.
  • Ability to understand physical, mechanics and chemical principles that are applied to certain phenomenons, example, phenomenon of the gravity, the transfer of heat, bodies in movement and others more.
  • Ability to select, to group, to organize and to execute elements, processes and necessary methods to propose solutions to a problem.
  • Ability to discover, to analyze, to understand and to communicate the handling, operation and mechanisms function and machines.
  • Ability to evaluate situations or projects and to make decisions based on approaches.
  • Sensitive to the environment, aware of the commitment that should have with the society.
  • Satisfactory intellectual capacity, that is to say, to learn different topics in certain time.

Mechanical Engineer Profile

  • To have solid knowledge in technology and sciences of the energy, applied mechanics, design, materials and manufactures processes, modeling, simulation, control and systems automation.
  • To be a professional able to participate in productive processes, research and technological development.
  • To assume an ethical behavior in the acting of tasks like design, construction, installation, operation, control, maintenance, manage and administration.

  • To interpret industrial systems.
  • To design facilities in the industrial sector.
  • To organize and to supervise plants and industrial facilities.
  • To project machinery and industrial plants.
  • To direct works of production, conservation, assembly and production means in diverse projects.
  • To select the materials and resources for specific uses.
