History
The Experimental National University of the
Tachira State was created by ordinance of the Presidency of
the Venezuelan Republic N° 1630, of date February 27 1974,
with objectives on regional development pointed out in its General
Regulation.
The Plan of Integral Development presented
then by the university to the Education Minister and to the
National Advice of Universities settles the conformation of
a university by means of integral functions of teaching, investigation
and extension, to influence in the formation of human resources,
linked by the context knowledge to the solution of the problems
of the region and of the country.
The university began their educational work
July 23 1975 on a project that initially contemplates careers
in Science of the Agriculture and Engineering of the Industry.
In science of the Agriculture it began with Agronomic Engineering
and Zootecny (now named Animal Production Engineering) and Engineering
of the Industry with the Industrial Engineering, later is added
Mechanical Engineering; in the year of 1983 was created the
career of Architecture, in 1991 Electronic Engineering, Computing Engineering in 1996 and in 2004 Environmental Engineering.
Symbols
Logotype
The logotype of the UNET is composed of integrated
straight lines in such a way that allow identifying the initials
of the University of the Tachira State. If you need it you

Hymn
The hymn of the University is titled "University
Song" lyrics by Professor Pablo Mora and music by Professor
Rubén Rivas.
